Delaware Auto Discounts
MULTI-CAR DISCOUNT
A multi-car discount is given when the named insured owns two or more private passenger automobiles that are all garaged in the same location and insured for automobile liability under the same policy. A named insured includes the spouse if a resident in the same household. The discount applies to Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Personal Injury Protection, Comprehensive and Collision coverage.
HOMEOWNER’S AND MANUFACTURED HOMEOWNERS DISCOUNT
This discount applies when the named insured owns a home or a condominium within the state and lives in such home. If a manufactured home, it must be less than 15 years old. Proof of homeownership is required. Forms of proof must clearly display the insured’s address, and can include a current homeowners/manufactured homeowners policy declarations page, a mortgage coupon, a tax receipt, or a title. The discount applies to Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Personal Injury Protection, Comprehensive and Collision coverage.
TRAVELINK CAR-POOL DISCOUNT RULE
A 5% discount on Collision coverage premiums applies to policyholders who participate in a ride-sharing (car-pool) program sponsored by their employer and approved by the Delaware Department of Transportation. A copy of the qualifying certificate from the Department of Transportation must be submitted for credit. Apply discount after all other factors, discounts and credits have been applied.
DEFENSIVE DRIVING DISCOUNT
A 10% discount on the BI, PD and PIP premiums will be applied when an operator has completed an approved Defensive Driving course. If all operators on the policy have completed the course, the discount will apply to all vehicles on the policy. If all operators have not completed the course, we will only apply the credit to as many private passenger vehicles as there are operators who are eligible for the credit. A certificate certifying voluntary attendance and successful completion within the last 36 months must be submitted to the company or defensive driving should be verifiable on individual’s driving record. The discount shall terminate at the policy expiration subsequent to the expiration of three years since completion of the course. An operator may take an Advanced Defensive Driving course within 90 days of expiration of the course mentioned above and receive a 15% discount for an additional three year period. Discounts shall not overlap.
THREE YEAR ACCIDENT AND VIOLATION FREE DISCOUNT
A Three Year Accident and Violation Free Discount is applied when there are no at-fault accidents over $750 nad no chargeable violations within the past 36 months; and no driver is younger than 19 years of age: and the policy has prior insurance without a lapse or with a lapse of 30 days or less. This discount applies to Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Personal Injury Protection, Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist, Comprehensive and Collision. This applies to new and renewal business.
PAID IN FULL DISCOUNT
A discount will apply when the applicant elects to pay the six months premium in full at inception of a new policy. The discount will remain on the policy at subsequent renewals regardless of payment option chosen after inception.
